Zdenka Sekora, 83, found dead in her home on Friday after a 911 call
Ontario Provincial Police in Hawkesbury, Ont., have charged a 78-year-old man with second-degree murder in the death of his wife.
In a news release issued Saturday, OPP said officers and paramedics responded to a 911 call on Friday from a home on Concession Road 1 in Lefaivre, Ont., for a report of a deceased woman.
When they arrived at the home, which is near the Ottawa River in Alfred-Plantagenet Township, the body of 83-year-old Zdenka Sekora was found.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
After an investigation, police said her death was the result of foul play and they arrested her 78-year-old husband.
He now faces one charge of second-degree murder and remains in custody until his court appearance on Monday in L'Orignal, Ont.
